Moving my shop outside and about to unwrap the latest addition.
The kitchen knife set is complete. 64 layers 80crv2 and 15n20 random pattern. African Blackwood with brass pins for the handle. Thanks to @wickd_wax for the awesome wax that will be accompanying these to their new home.
Fun job completed and out the door. 32 layers of 52100 / 15n20 done as a customer request. Added a few bonus items in.
Finally wrapping up 4 billets of 256 layer 1084 / 15n20 and 2 of 128 layers. Damn things been sitting in a bin waiting for me to get off my ass for months now. Putting raindrop in the 256 and not sure what I will do with the 128 yet.
Well you win some and you lose some. Sometimes from the same billet! These are both go-mai blades from the same billet, i had extra so cut off some and made the knife which quenched great. Did the short sword today and popped a weld all the way throu
Saw a video posted about hammering in tips/points without the dreaded fish lips. Figured Id see if I could do it before watching. Couple of throwing knives Im working on. I think i did alright.
Quick test etch on a gomai blade Im trying out. It was extra from a billit Im making a short sword with.
Got 4 new toys ready for heat treat. 1 80crv2 blade i did a tester, 1 go-mai short chopper and 2 80crv2 chef blades im trying hamon clay on for giggles. All the blades have anti-scale coating as well. Waiting for hamon clay to dry and will quench tom

Damn busy time of year. Finally got 2024’s first piece out the door. 64 layer 1084 / 15n20 with African Blackwood handle, brass pins and red spacers. Sorry pics are a bit dark, last minute night time photos.
1 of 4 just about wrapped up. 128 layers 1095 / 15n20 with a mangled -twist pattern. Ironwood handle with green liners. Just needs final edge and sheath. Bevel needs to come up a bit I know, my first attempts at hollow grind.
